Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills or stains) in one session without the need to switch out devices. They can also help save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide gets you running in no time with a full dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and vacuums well too. Its mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.

For instance, you could opt for the robot to do a deep clean in the living and kitchen areas but be careful with the spare bedroom.  best budget robot vacuum  and its smart navigation technology are superb and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only minor issue is that it can crash into walls and objects at full speed - but an instant glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks must be completed like emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you look at all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop is the most up-to-date version. In contrast to the model of last year, this one features two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could overlook.

The Roborock model, like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean them without missing a beat.

It's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons which include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin automatically refills.

The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount to wash manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these advanced features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mowing capabilities. Its innovative design lets you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair, crumbs and other dry messes. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture that is curved like chairs and table legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture that is low-profile, making it a great choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a great feature that allows the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through repeated back-and-forth movements.

Unlike some other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or in a series. It can also be programmed to avoid areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is user-friendly and simple to use and the X40's clever features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous convenient features, making it a perfect choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect when the mop pad is overflowing and alert you before it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It does have several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature of its mop, utilizes two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, dirt particles, and clean up spills and soiled spots.

The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature as it stops the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a system has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a useful method of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There's a wealth of settings on offer that include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. They can be set through the app or direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning routine, and there are numerous functions that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, with a white and metallic design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at 4kg however it's not overly heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
